Cathedral Tours

10:30 Every day, except 28 June, 4 July and 5 July

Come to see the magnificent Cathedral in the heart of the city, and learn about its architecture, history and continuing legacy.

Ecumenical Prayer Service

18:30 Thursday, 25 June

Come along to a non-denominational service of scripture and song. Readings and prayers will be interspersed with hymns, songs and musical offerings. Join us afterwards for tea and fellowship, and maybe even a glass of glühwein!

Festival Evensong

Featuring the Cathedral Consort, music from this service will include Walmisley's Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in D minor, Bairstow's "Save Us, O Lord", and Patrick Wise's Preces and Responses

Concert: The Rheinburger Series - Concert II: Rheinburger the Influencer

A concert of organ music commemorating Josef Rheinberger, including music of pupils and others influenced by him performed by Dr Cameron Luke FRCO

Choral Compline

Join us for a meditative service in the monastic tradition, entirely sung in English and Latin by choristers from the Cathedral of St Michael & St George.

Festival Eucharist

9:30 Sunday, 28 June

The preacher and presider at this service will be the Bishop of Grahamstown, Mcebisi Pinyana. Music for this service will include Joseph Haydn's Little Organ Mass and Charles Wood's "O Thou, the Central Orb", sung by the Cathedral Consort.

Bell tower Tour

14:00 Daily, 29 June - 2 July

Climb 63 steps up the cramped spiral staircase to learn how the heaviest peal of bells in Africa is rung, and see the finest views of the town from the iconic Cathedral Bell Tower.

Concert: Great to Pedal

Pillars of the repertoire featuring the Pedal organ: Peter Black plays music by JS Bach, Felix Mendelssohn, Cesar Franck, Léon Boëllmann, Louis Vierne and Sir George Thalben-Ball.

Concert: Lost and Found: Rediscovered Music

Saeculum Aureum and Christopher Cockburn present a program featuring music which has been lost for many years - gathering dust in archives or being tossed as worthless. New life is breathed into these forgotten treasures.

Festival Eucharist

9:30 Sunday, 5 June

Music for this service will be performed by the Cathedral Choir and the Cathedral Marimba Band. This will be the world premiere of a brand new setting of the Kyrie for Marimba and Congregation.
